The annual Mount Nittany Hike is another Springfield tradition early in the fall semester. Always keeping our fingers crossed for a sunny day, dozens of Springfielders drive to one of the mountains that make up Happy Valley. Mount Nittany is home to beautiful views of the whole valley accessible by an easy trail.
At the top of Mount Nittany, Springfielders stop to enjoy conversation and snacks. As the sun sets, we listen to an old legend about the haunted past of the mountain before heading back down.
The hike is an old tradition, and the groups from 2014 and 2015 are pictured above. Similar to Whipple Dam, the Mount Nittany hike is a favorite among returning members as a way to reunite with old friends and make new ones. Springfield looks forward to the hike this fall!
