Where are you from?
What year are you and how long have you been in Springfield?
Rising junior/Since spring 2018 (Or directly after THON 2018 if you want to get technical)
Why did you join Springfield?
I joined Springfield because of the kindness, positivity and welcoming energy Springfielders radiate. Ironically, I first interacted with Springfield this past THON weekend. I was on Springfield's pass list to visit one of their dancers throughout the weekend, and I only ~really~ expected to talk the two Springfielders who were tasked with getting me on and off the floor. To my surprise, dozens of Springfielders went out of their way to introduce themselves, include me in their groups and let me stand in the front row of their section for hours.
Barely any of them knew me, and certainly everyone was delirious. It would have been easier for Springfield to overlook me but instead, they chose make a stranger feel like one of their own because that's just the type of people they are.
The week after THON 2018, I went to my first ever Sunday meeting and haven't looked back.
What is your favorite Springfield memory?
My favorite Springfield memory was attending this past family picnic, where I hung out with almost all of our Four Diamonds families for the first time. There were a few of us who stayed until the very end, and many of us got to spend one-on-one time with Taiven, Kenzie, Callie and Syd at some point. Seeing our Four Diamonds families have a blast made my entire weekend — I'll never forget Syd telling me she wished "every weekend was like family picnic".
What does Springfield mean to you?
To me, Springfield means being a part of something larger than myself. Long before I even joined Springfield, I heard one of the org's sayings that still sticks with me today: "A Springfielder's true strength is the Springfielder standing next to them". Now that I'm a part of Springfield, I know that statement lives up to its truth. Springfield is about having each other's backs and making the impossible possible together. To be a Springfielder is to be the best version of yourself because of the company you have.
